Today

I ran 9.5 miles today. Andrew rode his bike along side me. We ran/rode on Hines Dr. and it was quite scenic. I only meant to do 8 miles because I have a training schedule I am following and I am prone to shin splints when I do too much too soon. But I missed the stopping point somehow and after we had gone on for some time I just made the call to turn around and head back to the car. 1 hour 50 minutes later we made it back to the car so I suspected we had gone more than 8 miles because of the time. I entered the route online and sure enough...9.5 miles! I am so wiped out now but it was pretty cool!

Well, I ran in the Great Turtle Trail Run on Mackinac Island last weekend. I ran 5.7 miles in just under an hour and in spite of light rain and cold weather it was a FABULOUS run. It started in front of the Mission Point Resort and then immediately went uphill (which wasn't too fun) then it entered the State Park on the island....and Wow! that was beautiful. A really great trail run but we had to be careful because it would have been easy to slip on the wet, leaf covered trail. One of the best parts was coming out of the trees onto the trial around the island and running next to the water. It was so amazing and I just got all choked up and well words don't do it justice. It was fabulous to see God's handiwork and run along and take it all in. I was thrilled to cross the finish line under an hour and met up with Sandor...we were on Mackinac Island celebrating our 15 year anniversary. We headed off for massages and then enjoyed a goreous fall afternoon strolling the island and finished off with dinner at the Grand Hotel. It was magnificent! Enjoy the pics.

The world of Facebook has taken a forefront to my blogging...I do apologize!! Its just so FUN! Hatching Eggs, Mystery plants, Superpokes, etc. Its kind of bad because, like blogging it is a thief of time and I have to be careful about spending too much time online.
